Mechanical working
A wide range of mechanical working to meet all needs.
Imec can carry out several mechanical processes on materials which make them suitable to their final use and give them the appearance and the form the customer wants. We also deal with mechanical workings on pieces already done by a customer.
The following are mechanical processes we deal with:
Cutting: it is carried out by a machine that removes large amounts of material and makes spot-facing, grooves and holes. The machine comprises of blades which remove the unnecessary parts of the piece and shapes it as it is wanted.
Turning: it is carried out by a machine suitable to several uses as well as to remove metal residuals and make a special mechanical finishing.
Lapping: the goal of this mechanical process is to obtain an even and smooth surface. Working involves the use of a special abrasive powder.
Welding: this well-known mechanical working consists of combining two materials by using high temperature heat.
Threading: it is a mechanical process that joins two or more components non-permanently. The part is worked to create helicoidal grooves that are the treads.
Boring: this mechanical working is necessary to finish the holes which are enlarged by the boring machine that removes small amounts of metal.
